Currently Durham County Cricket Club are holding trials at three levels & ambitious young cricketers have the opportunity to showcase their talent and start their journey towards international cricket.
Sessions begin this weekend in the indoor cricket school at Chester-le-Street’s Riverside complex & are split into the categories set out below.
Open trials for Academy & professional squad
Sunday, 14 January (2pm-5pm)
This is for players who harbour realistic ambitions of becoming a professional cricketer.
Players should currently be performing and winning games for their club first eleven in a good standard of league cricket.
Under-19 trials
Friday, 12 January (3pm-5pm) & Wednesday, 17 January (3pm-6pm)
The Club runs an Under-19 side alongside the Academy. It plays two day cricket in the Under 19 County Championship & prospective players should be main players in their Club’s first eleven.
Under-17 trials
Monday, 15 January (7pm-9pm)
Durham has been very successful at this level over the past ten years. The side plays in a one-day competition and a three-day County Championship format in the summer holidays.
Players should be first team club players or successful second XI club players.
