Lancashire visit for South North showdown

Durham are aiming to keep up their winning record at South Northumberland CC as Lancashire visit in tomorrow’s Royal London One-Day Cup fixture (11am start).

Since the first game staged in Gosforth in 2014, Durham have beaten Warwickshire (twice), Leicestershire & Worcestershire, and are chasing another victory as the race for qualification places in the North Group heats up.

James Franklin’s side come up against Lancashire with the Red Rose just one place & two points behind Durham in second place.

A three-wicket win over Derbyshire yesterday cemented Durham’s place & made it three wins from three on home turf.

After opening with two defeats, the Red Rose are coming off the back of three straight wins.

“It’s pleasing to win, but they’re all one-off events. We’ve been stressing to the group we have to forget what has been and focus very much on the day ahead and resetting,” Franklin said after the Derbyshire win.

“They’ve gone out and put their best foot forward and we’ve been fortunate that so far it’s working in our favour. It’s all quite closely knit, where one or two wins or losses back-to-back can change the whole dynamic of the group. We know that things are going well, but we cannot afford to let up.”

Franklin named a 13-man squad prior to the Derbyshire fixture.

Squad

Cameron Bancroft (c, wk), Graham Clark, Scott Steel, Alex Lees, Michael Richardson, Gareth Harte, Jack Burnham, Brydon Carse, Liam Trevaskis, Ben Raine, Matty Potts, James Weighell, Matt Salisbury
