Lewis names squad for MCCU clash

Keaton Jennings is set to return for the final pre-season match against Durham MCCU tomorrow (11am start).

The 24-year-old returns to Durham colours after a busy winter of action with England, England Lions and the ‘North’ side.

Jennings will captain the side in the absence of Paul Collingwood in the only change to the squad from the two-day friendly with Middlesex.

Cameron Steel is likely to open the batting against his former university team mates after making a half-century against his other former side, Middlesex.

Overseas batsman Stephen Cook is due to join up with the squad early next week while Usman Arshad is likely to miss the opening weeks of the season with an ankle injury.

It proved a useful two-day workout for Jon Lewis’ men and they are now set for a final three-day match before the Specsavers County Championship begins in eight days’ time.

Gates open at 10am and Members can access the Members’ Lounge as normal.

Entry for other spectators is free of charge.
