Durham Jets’ Vitality Blast home opener against Yorkshire Vikings on Friday night marked the opening of the new look Liontrust Family Zone.
Located in & around the car park of the Don Robson Pavilion at Emirates Riverside, all of the cricket-based activities proved a massive success among all ages.
Activities included a brand new catching zone, games designed to test batting, bowling & other fielding skills as well as a face painter & a dedicated section for the All Stars.
The Family Zone was enjoyed by lots of budding young cricketers from local clubs around the region as well as families, many of whom will have been enjoying the spectacle of T20 cricket for the first time.
The family zone will reopen at 4:30 on Friday evening when the Jets welcome Worcestershire Rapids. Children under 16 are granted free admission to celebrate the last day of school.
