Durham County Cricket Club can confirm that seamer Mark Davies will leave the Club to join Kent County Cricket Club with immediate effect
Davies joined the Durham Academy in 1997 and has made 83 first class appearances, taking over 250 wickets, since making his senior team debut in 2002.
On his departure from Durham CCC Mark Davies said, “Being part of Durham CCC for the past fifteen years, coming through the Academy and into the senior squad, has been a major part of my life and obviously I am sad to leave. But, the time was right to set myself a new challenge and I’m excited about what the future holds at Kent. I’d like to thank everyone at Durham, and our Members, for their continued support and wish them the best of luck for 2012. “
Durham CCC Chief Executive David Harker added, “We are really pleased that Mark’s trial with Kent was successful, in that he will now get the opportunity he deserves to play first eleven cricket. Mark has been a great ambassador for Durham CCC, on and off the field, and we wish him the very best for the future.”
