Durham’s LV= County Championship match against Worcester at New Road was drawn after an early lunch following heavy overnight rain and further showers on the morning of the fourth day saw no play possible
Durham take seven points from the game and also register an cumulative 18th day loss of play to the summers bad weather.
At the close of play Head Coach Geoff Cook said, “I think we had got ourselves into a pretty good position, we played particularly well in the overs we got in yesterday and I think we were in a strong position to kick on and set a decent target.
“I thought we bowled well yesterday and a repeat performance would have put us in with a chance of the win.
“I thought Chris Rushworth and Scott Borthwick bowled really well and were well supported by Ben Stokes and Callum Thorp. It was evident that Scott and Callum worked well as a pair.
“Paul is hoping to play on Sunday and if he comes through that he will be available for next week’s game against Sussex at Arundel. “
