Matt Parkinson returns to Durham for County Championship loan spell

Durham Cricket can announce that Matt Parkinson will return to the club on loan.  

The Lancashire leg-break bowler joins immediately and goes straight into the squad for Sunday’s LV=Insurance County Championship fixture against Sussex.

Parkinson who has spent time on loan with Durham earlier in the season will join on loan initially for the Sussex fixture.

With 51 first-class games to his name, Parkinson has claimed 161 first-class wickets which includes his best of 7/126 against Kent. While his career best match haul of 10-165 came against Sussex during the 2019 season.

Parkinson has made just one first-class appearance for Lancashire this season, where he took 5/120 in the second innings against Surrey securing his sixth five wicket haul in first-class cricket. Having played for Durham on 5 occasions earlier this summer.

The 26-year-old has picked up 13 international wickets to date and made his England Test debut last summer against New Zealand at Lord’s.
