Matt Parkinson returns to Durham on loan for County Championship

Durham Cricket can announce that Matt Parkinson will return to the club on loan.

The Lancashire leg-break bowler joins immediately and goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s LV=Insurance County Championship fixture against Leicestershire.

With 47 first-class games to his name, Parkinson has claimed 151 first-class wickets which includes his best of 7/126 against Kent. While his career best match haul of 10-165 came against Sussex during the 2019 season.

Parkinson has made just one first-class appearance for Lancashire this season, where he took 5/120 in the second innings against Surrey securing his sixth five wicket haul in first-class cricket.

He returns to Durham following his one game loan spell against Derbyshire in April and will be available until at least the end of July.

The 26-year-old has picked up 13 international wickets to date and made his England Test debut last summer against New Zealand at Lord’s.
