Durham Cricket seamer Matthew Potts will play for Lahore Qalandars in the 2022 edition of the Pakistan Super League having signed a deal for early rounds of the tournament.

Potts, who has enjoyed success in both white and red ball cricket in recent years will head to Pakistan this week, having signed as a partial replacement for batter Harry Brook for the first three matches, covering for the Yorkshire man who is on England duty.

23-year-old Potts has excelled for Durham in the last three editions of the Vitality Blast where he finished the 2019, 2020 and 2021 campaigns as the leading wicket taker for the Club.

Potts will be available for games against Multan Sultans [January 29], Karachi Kings [30 January 30] and Peshawar Zalmi [February 2]

Potts said: “I am really excited for the opportunity to be going across to the Pakistan Super League to be a part of the Lahore Qalanders.

“I see this experience as a great chance to learn and test myself against some of the best in the format.”

The PSL will commence on January 27 running until February 27 with all under strict bio-secure protocols. For the initial part of the tournament games will be played at the National Stadium Karachi, before the playoffs, final and latter group stage games will take place at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
