Moores century down Twos against Notts

Result: Nottinghamshire 2nd XI (201 & 222/3; Moores 101*) beat Durham 2nd XI (118 & 304; Hickey 144; Milnes 4/41) by seven wickets

Scorecard

Adam Hickey struck a majestic century but the Seconds were made to pay for a poor first innings as they fell to a seven-wicket defeat against Nottinghamshire.

With a first innings deficit of 83 to overturn, Hickey overcame the loss of early wickets to give Durham a chance on Day Three.

He combined with Michael Jones (37) & Tom Hewison (53) for stands of 91 & 104 respectively before adding 54 more with Irfan Karim (27).

It left the visitors a challenging total of 222 on the final day but Tom Moores’ knock of 101* ensured they cantered home after a solid start.

Neil Killeen’s men were up against it after a strong attack decimated them to 72/9 on the first morning.

Brett Hutton was the chief destroyer, taking 7/44, though a last-wicket stand of 46 between Karim & Graham Onions lifted the score to 118.

Jake Libby anchored Notts’ reply with 114 but regular wicket around him limited the score to just over 200.

Hickey took three wickets while Onions impressed as well, taking 2/20 from 13 overs with no fewer than six maidens.
