“I’ve been there at the end twice now and that’s been nice and we’ve just gone equal top of the league so that’s just as nice”, said Muchall.
“The bowlers bowled really well, Graham Onions and Chris Rushworth set the standard early on and then Mitch came on and gave them absolutely nothing, the skipper bowled himself through and Stokesy came on and picked up a few wickets at the end.
“We bowled them out for 160 and there was never really any pressure on the run rate. We did lose a few early on, Mascarenhas bowled really well so had to consolidate and we knew if me and Benks batted for the majority of overs we could win it.
“We talked about batting and having wickets left at the end and that’s the first time we’ve done that so we’re quite happy as a batting unit.
“We had a chat before we went out, knowing that one good partnership could win us the game and we were able to do that without getting seven or eight down.
“In the last few years we’ve not done ourselves a huge amount of favours in one day cricket but Dale has set specific roles for people and everyone seems to be finding their place. The bowlers are bowling well and we’ve started to string some good performances together and hopefully we can get another win under our belts against Scotland”.
