Mustard, who will join the England Test side touring Sri Lanka this winter, played through his career best season in 2007 which saw him claim Batsman of the Year and Fielder of the Year at Durham County Cricket Club’s end of season awards. Phil’s performances this season also earned him a place in the PCA’s Most Valuable Player league.
Batsman Kyle Coetzer has also signed a one year extension after a great season with the bat. Kyle was voted Young Player of the Year at this year’s Northern Rock Player of the Year Awards, having developed through the Durham Academy and really showing off his talent in front of a national audience during the Friends Provident Trophy Final against Hampshire Hawks at Lord’s.
Durham County Cricket Club Head Coach, Geoff Cook, said, “I’m delighted that Phil and Kyle have extended their contracts with us. They have both been involved with the Club from a young age and it’s great to have them with us as we continue to move forward.”
Durham County Cricket Club Chief Executive, David Harker, added, “The Club is keen to maintain the blend of youth and experience in the dressing room and Kyle and Phil have definitely benefited from the set up here and we look forward to continuing to support their development.”
