Nathan Rimmington to cycle from London to Paris in aid of Professional Cricketers’ Trust (PCT)

Durham Cricket Academy & Pathway Coach Nathan Nathan Rimmington will be cycling from London to Paris to raise funds for the Professional Cricketers’ Trust (PCT).

Rimmington will cycle around 250 miles over three days, starting in London on Tuesday 10 October, coinciding with World Mental Health Day.

Providing the perfect opportunity to bring mental health to the forefront of people’s minds, the PCT will use the awareness day to highlight the need to raise funds to combat the growing trend of welfare and wellbeing issues amongst former players.

The Trust was created to support the life-long health and wellbeing of past and present cricketers and their immediate families.

On the ride, Rimmington said: “I am very much looking forward to the ride, mainly to raise funds for such an important cause but I am very excited for the challenge it will bring.

“Having retired from professional cricket the thought of a challenge like this is something which I can’t wait to do.

“I have always loved cycling and enjoy the fantastic trails in the North East, so next week should be plenty of fun, although a challenge at the same time.

Rimmington and the other riders will pedal 149 kilometres from The Kia Oval to Portsmouth on Tuesday, before catching the overnight ferry and cover a further 145 kilometres on the following day to Evreux.

A final 124 kilometres stretch on Thursday (October 12) will take the riders into Paris and along the Champ Elysees before ending close to the Eiffel Tower.
