Neil Killeen: 2017 2nd XI review

Neil Killeen admits it was a difficult season for the Second XI but is adamant the experience will benefit Durham’s young players in the longer term.

The 2nd XI used a number of Academy players across the campaign after the knock-on effects of injuries & promotions to the First XI.

Despite not being able to repeat the successes of 2016’s Championship win, Killeen’s youthful side managed to compete with more experienced opposition.

Above he discusses his thoughts on the season as a whole, why the promotion of younger players into the Seconds will only positively effect their development & the players who have impressed him over the last six months.
