Nominations Open: Grassroots Cricket Awards 2022

Nominations for the Grassroots Cricket Awards are now open, with shortlisted nominees to be recognised at the biggest Volunteer Recognition event at Seat Unique Riverside.

The awards are held to recognise the hard work thousands of volunteers across Durham put into the recreational game each season.

This year, three shortlisted nominees in each category will be invited to a presentation event at Seat Unique Riverside on Wednesday, 17th August when Durham take on Sussex Sharks.

The event will be part of a wider initiative, incorporating a Volunteer Recognition Day during the fixture.

As a thank you, everyone who submits a nomination will also be invited to watch the Royal London One-Day Cup game on Wednesday, 17th August at a hospitality box at the Seat Unique Riverside.

Nominations can be submitted in 15 award categories, including three newly introduced “Tackling Climate Change”, “Volunteer Grounds Management Team of the Year” and “SafeHands Award”.

This year’s awards also include three categories dedicated to coaching: “Coach of the Year”, “Young Coach of the Year” and “Services to Coaching”.

In Durham, we have maintained two local categories recognising women’s and girls’ cricket development and clubs who are delivering exceptional national programmes by running All Stars Cricket and/or Dynamos Cricket.

Unsuccessful nominees from previous years who are still doing valuable voluntary work are eligible for consideration on submission of an updated testimonial.
