Durham Cricket are delighted that three members of its girls’ pathway were selected for the North of England girls’ squad.
Trudy Johnson, Grace Thompson and Freya Rook were all named in the North squad which were involved in two T20s at Loughborough University.
The North East trio who are all involved in the North East Warriors squad were named in the group which were picked from the regional academy squads from both the North and South.
Johnson and Thompson are both all-rounders while Rook is a left-arm spinner and have all represented the Northern Diamonds Academy and North East Warriors throughout the season.
While Brie Spilchen, the Clubs’ Women and Girls Physiotherapist was also part of the coaching and support staff for the North.
Trudy led the way in game one with 50 off 45 balls with two fours and one six while Grace Thompson picked up 1/22 from 4.
In game two Johnson claimed another two wickets, with Rook also striking.

“It’s a great reward for the hard work they have put in and recognition of their excellent performances at county age group and club level.
“To compete against other girls from around the country is exiting for them and it great to see they have all contributed.”
