Ollie Robinson earns Gulf Giants selection for UAE DP World International League T20

Durham’s Ollie Robinson has been drafted by Gulf Giants for series three of the DP World International League T20.

Robinson has a earned call up for the United Arab Emirates T20 competition which kicks off in January and is part of a 21-player squad.

The 26-year-old earned a late call up alongside Australian Tim David and Sri Lankan Dushan Hemantha.

Robinson will join up a Gulf Giants squad which is full of international stars featuring Shimron Hetmyer, James Vince, Chris Jordan, Aayan Khan, Zuhaib Zubair, Blessing Muzarabani, Gerhard Erasmus, Jamie Smith, Rehan Ahmed, Jordan Cox, Jamie Overton, and Dipendra Singh Airee.

While Daniel Worrall, Dominic Drakes, Tom Curran, Adam Lyth, Wahidullah Zadran, Ibrahim Zadran, Mark Adair, and Tymal Mills are all new additions to the Giants squad.

The Gulf Giants, who are coached by Andy Flower, finished second in the group in series two of the Dubai ILT20 and will be looking to go one better this year and top the group, progressing into the knockout stages.

They kick off their campaign on Sunday 12 January against Sharjah Warriors on home soil at Dubai International Stadium.

While Robinson will go up against Durham teammate Nathan Sowter two days later at Dubai International Stadium, as the Giants take on the Desert Vipers on 14 January.
