Head coach Jon Lewis & bowler Graham Onions gave their reactions after signing pre-season off with a thumping victory over Durham MCCU at Emirates Riverside.
Onions helped decimate the students on Day Three, taking a wicket with his first ball en route to figures of 4/3 from eight overs.
It took his match figures to 8/24 and the 34-year-old is ready and raring to go for the 2017 season, starting with Nottinghamshire on Friday.
And though the match did not have first-class status, Onions is still targeting Simon Brown’s first-class wicket record of 518 for the club.
Lewis was equally pleased to see the batsmen pile on the runs and the bowlers taking 20 wickets.
The head coach has healthy selection problems in the seam bowling department as they prepare to take on one of Division Two’s strongest outfits.
