Players return for winter training

Durham CCC’s professional playing squad returned to Emirates Riverside this morning (Monday, 5 November) for the beginning of their winter fitness regimes.

The Club’s strength & conditioning coach, Sam Clark, is leading the players’ fitness programmes as they start to plan towards the 2019 season.

Head coach Jon Lewis, Second XI coach Neil Killeen & new director of cricket, Marcus North, were all in attendance to welcome the players back to Emirates Riverside.

The group size this off-season is considerably bigger than those in previous years, with the majority of players spending the winter in the North East as opposed to playing abroad.

A seven-week programme is in place up until the Christmas period begins, with the players then returning again in the New Year.

The squad undertook a number of capacity & strength tests in the on-site gym, with cricket gradually being phased in towards the end of the pre-Christmas programme.

Early-bird memberships are available until the end of November, offering a discount on full price memberships for the 2019 season.
