Potch tour closes with big victory

Durham (402/6) beat North West (121) by 281 runs

Durham’s tour of South Africa ended with a comprehensive 50-over victory over North West in Potchefstroom.

After chalking up a whopping 402/6, the hosts were rolled out for 121 to confirm a huge 281-run victory.

Graham Clark led the scoring with a century while their were half centuries for Liam Trevaskis, Ned Eckersley, Michael Richardson & Jack Burnham.

In reply, North West were swept away by four wicket hauls from both Matt Salisbury & Trevaskis.

A number of the opposition have already featured in first-class cricket, providing a good test for Durham – which they passed with flying colours.

Openers Clark & Trevaskis made hay early doors, with Clark retiring upon reaching three figures. Richardson & Burnham later retired too, with all of the top order batsmen enjoying valuable time at the crease.
