Two further overseas trips have been planned before the start of the season, with groups of players also heading to India and South Africa.
2XI coach Jon Lewis will visit the Global Cricket School in India in February with Gareth Breese, Mark Stoneman, youth prospect Tim Raglan, plus Academy products Ryan Buckley and James Weighell.
Limited overs captain Dale Benkenstein and bowling coach Alan Walker will travel to South Africa with seven of the Durham bowling attack for two weeks outdoor practice and further pre season training ahead of the main tour.
Departing on 29 February seamers Mitchell Claydon, Stephen Harmison, Liam Plunkett, Chris Rushworth and Ben Stokes will also be joined by Academy players Josh Bousefield and Usman Arshad.
Durham CCC Head Coach Geoff Cook said, “Our tours to Dubai have been really successful in previous years and have proved to be an effective way to continue our pre season preparation in outdoor conditions. It’s important for the bowlers to get as much outdoor practice as possible before the start of the season which is why we’ve also taken the opportunity to send groups to India and South Africa.”
