Michael Richardson made his Germany debut yesterday (Wednesday 19 June) in their eight-wicket win over Denmark in the ICC T20 World Cup Europe Final.
Richardson, who qualifies to play for the country through his German grandfather, was called up as an injury replacement for wicketkeeper Dan Weston after recently recovering from a broken thumb.
The 32-year-old took one catch, completed a stumping & finished two not out batting at number four in their comprehensive win.
Glamorgan all-rounder Craig Meschede top-scored for Germany with 67, including five sixes in a single over.
The winner of the six-team competition advances through to the final T20 World Cup qualifier, to be held in the UAE in October & November, with six sides then progressing to the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia 2020.
Germany sit third with two wins & a defeat, requiring victory from both games today (Thursday 20 June) & a significant run-rate swing on leaders Jersey to qualify.
The games will be streamed live on the official ICC T20 World Cup Facebook page.
In other international news, Cameron Steel has been called into a 30-man USA training squad ahead of their ICC T20 World Cup Americas qualification tournament.
Steel, who was born in California, is aiming for selection for their qualifying tournament against Bermuda, Cayman Islands & Canada, which takes place between 18-25 August in Bermuda.
Two of those sides will advance through to the final ICC T20 World Cup qualifier in the UAE.
Steel is joined by Hampshire all-rounder Ian Holland & former South African international Rusty Theron.
