Record crowd expected for Rod Stewart concert at Emirates Riverside
Durham County Cricket Club will welcome a record crowd through the gates of Emirates Riverside this Friday (June 9) as Rod Stewart takes to the stage to perform the Hits 2017 concert.
The gig is set to become the biggest ever held at the Emirates Riverside and the Chester le Street venue is getting ready as preparations continue to set up the stage, seating, bar areas and everything else required for the big day.
The rock music superstar will join a number of top acts who have stepped out onto the Riverside stage, including Elton John, Madness, Simply Red, Bryan Adams and Jessie J.
Rod’s performance at Emirates Riverside is the second of two dates before he headlines the Isle of Wight festival on Sunday, June 11.
His performance will include show stopping classics spanning five decades including Maggie May, Do Ya Think I’m Sexy, Baby Jane, The First Cut Is The Deepest and I Don’t Want To Talk About It.
