Sacriston win Junior Indoor Trophy

Sacriston Colliery Cricket Club won Durham Cricket’s Junior Indoor Six-a-Side Trophy after chasing down Chester-le-Street Cricket Club’s total with one ball to spare.

Result: Sacriston CC (105/3) beat Chester-le-Street CC (104/4) by 7 wickets.

Sacriston reached the target in a tight final to win the competition for the first time.

Clinical Nathan Bushby scored 25 before retiring, supported by captain Louis Anderson who contributed 22.

Alfie Hart and Tyler Flintoff saw Sacriston over the line, scoring 19 in five balls, Hart hitting 16 of them.

Chester-le-Street scored 104/4 in their innings, as Bushby bowled a maiden in the ninth over to help restrict the total.

The Junior Indoor Six-a-Side Competition is organised annually by Durham Cricket in a bid to create more competitive opportunities for junior teams in the off-season.

Sacriston and Chester-le-Street qualified through to the final after winning in the semis against Hartlepool and South Shields respectively.
