Scott Borthwick ruled out for remainder of the 2024 season

Durham Cricket can confirm that Club Captain Scott Borthwick has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Following an elbow injury sustained, Scott will not be available for Durham’s final two games of the season, on the advice of medical grounds.

Alex Lees will take over the responsibility as captain for Durham’s fixtures against Surrey and Kent.

Following injury to Borthwick, we can confirm that Emilio Gay will now join the Club for the remainder of the season on loan from Northamptonshire.

Gay, who will join Durham on a three-year deal ahead of the 2025 season, will now join the Club for the final two games of the season and comes into contention to face Surrey on Tuesday.
