Durham Academy player Sebastian Hughes-Piñán has been drafted into the Spanish squad for the forthcoming T10 series against Portugal and Romania.
The Spanish youngster will replace Muhammad Yasin who got injured in the recent Noreste Regional League Finals in Montjuic.
Hughes-Piñán who plays his league cricket with Chester-le-Street in the North East Premier League has been a member of the Durham Academy squad since 2022.
A slow left arm bowler and a middle order batter, he played for the Durham second XI against Lancashire and Derbyshire this summer.
He will fly to Barcelona on Friday 24th November to meet up with his new team mates.
Spain play four games on Saturday 25th with two matches against Portugal and Romania. The following day they play twice, (once each against the Portuguese and Romanians) in what is a triple round robin event.
On confirmation on Sebastian’s inclusion, Spanish National team coach Corey Rutgers said:
