Durham’s 2nd XI shared the spoils with their Leicestershire counterparts at South Northumberland Cricket Club in two T20 North Group matches.
A 93-run sixth wicket partnership between Michael Jones and Angus Robson – the latter notching a half century – lifted Durham from 62/5 to finish on a total of 155 after their 20 overs.
An exciting run chase ensued, with Leicestershire scoring the winning runs off the final ball of their 20 overs despite four wickets from Ben Whitehead (4-35).
The Foxes batted first in game two, Durham restricting Leicestershire to 59-6 before a 47-run seventh-wicket partnership set the hosts a modest total of 115 – Luke Doneathy taking 3-27.
Scott Steel also took two wickets before hitting 51 with the bat as Durham chased down the total inside 12 overs.
