Chris Rushworth made his return to action as Durham 2nd XI’s Trophy campaign started with a DLS win over Leicestershire at the Fischer County Ground.
Ryan Pringle was the driving force of the chase, scoring 79 from number one as Alan Walker’s side chased down target of 237 off 41 overs with over five overs to spare.

A tight opening from Rushworth & Josh Coughlin meant they were on the back foot from the off, with the latter striking first.
Oliver Gibson, George Harding, James Weighell & Nathan Rimmington all added a solitary wicket, with no fewer than three runouts.
Pringle’s knock of calculated aggression was the backbone of Durham’s response, ably supported by Cameron Steel (29) & Ned Eckersley (36).
Smith entered the fray to take the game away from Leicestershire, scoring 52 off 38 balls before Weighell (29 off 19) ended it with a six.
