Adam Hickey will lead the Seconds in their first competitive matches against Northamptonshire 2nd XI next week.
Neil Killeen’s side travel to Campbell Park for a Second XI Trophy match on Monday followed by a three-day Second XI Championship match at the same venue.
It also signals the defence of their Championship crown after they crushed Middlesex in last year’s final at Emirates Riverside.
First XI bowler Graham Onions is set to appear as he pushes for inclusion in the limited-overs squad while Josh Coughlin, George Harding & Gavin Main are also in a 12-man squad.
Michael Jones, who scored an unbeaten 173 for Scotland ‘A’ against the Seconds last week, is also handed a chance to impress Killeen.
