Seconds record successive Trophy wins

Durham 2nd XI (284/5; Harte 74, Trevaskis 71) beat Worcestershire 2nd XI (203; Dell 60; Harte 4/13) by 81 runs

An all-round performance from Gareth Harte helped the Seconds to a 81-run victory over Worcestershire at Hartlepool.

Harte struck 74 as Durham made 284 in their 50 overs, with Liam Trevaskis chipping in 71.

Ryan Davies added 56 in as many balls, adding 71 in ten overs with Scott Steel, who finished unbeaten 47 off 37 balls.

Worcestershire’s reply stuttered from the off, with Barry McCarthy returning from injury to grab a wicket in his four overs.

Harte completed his contribution with 4/13 in seven overs, ripping through the middle order to leave the visitors 103/6.

Joshua Dell & Ben Twohig gave them hope in a partnership of 81 before Josh Coughlin removed the latter.

With little support left, Dell was the ninth wicket for a top score of 60 as Neil Killeen’s side ran out comfortable winners.
