Michael Jones scored an unbeaten 87 in vain as Durham seconds lost against Scotland in the first T20 of the day at Burnopfield.
Scotland 152/6 (Munsey 49, Coetzer 34; Weighell 3/22, Whitehead 2/31) beat Durham 151/1 (Jones 87*, S.Steel 25) by 4 wickets.
Jones who also represents Scotland at national level, in addition to playing for Durham helped the home side to a respectable score of 151 from 20 overs, hitting 13 fours and one six in his 60 ball 87.
Scott Steel supported Jones with 25 at the top of the order, while Jonathan Bushnell finished unbeaten on 13.
From the off Scotland showed their intent as they looked to chase down the target set by Durham as George Munsey smashed 49 off 21 balls before Sol Bell had him caught off the bowling of James Weighell.
Durham, however had a shimmer of hope when Ben Whitehead picked up two wickets in consecutive overs, reducing Scotland to 108/3.
James Weighell struck with two wickets in two balls dismissing Coetzer and Cross to put Durham right back in the game, leaving Scotland 130/5.
A 22-run partnership at the end of the Scotland innings between Michael Leask (19) and Scott Cameron (3) enabled the visitors to get over the line, six wickets down with 1.3 overs remaining.
Durham pipped Scotland by four runs on the Duckworth Lewis method after heavy rain halted play in the second game.
Durham 104/6 (Jones 24; Tahir 3/15) beat Scotland 150/5 (Wallace 43*, Hairs 41; Hussain 3/17) by 4 runs on Duckworth Lewis method.
Scotland elected to bat after winning the toss with openers Oliver Hairs and Matthew Cross sharing an opening stand of 56, before Cross was bowled by Faizan Hussain for 19.
Hussain struck in consecutive overs to dismiss Hairs LBW for 41, followed by the wicket of former Durham batsman Callum MacLeod for four.
Durham were on top with Scotland 137/5, however Craig Wallace (43) from 29 balls and Michael Leask (22) helped the Scots reach 150/5 from their 20 overs.
The Durham top order all made starts but left-arm orthodox spin bowler Hamzir Tahir struck with 3/15 and forced a run-out as Durham slipped to 86/6.
A heavy rain shower forced the players off the field, with Durham 104/6 which ended play for the day, Durham winning by four runs on Duckworth-Lewis.
