Day Three
Durham Seconds (148; Coughlin 35 & 190/8; Bell 54) drew with Lancashire (342; Fluck 122, Rimmington 6-53).
Durham Second XI earned a hard-fought draw against Lancashire on the final day at Chester Boughton Hall CC.
The 2s were set an uphill task after being dispatched for 148 in their first innings and Lancashire’s impressive reply of 342, despite Nathan Rimmington’s impressive six-for.
However, some resilient batting from Durham, helped by Sol Bell’s 54 from 88 balls, meant the Ds grinded out a share of the points and successfully batted out 59 overs.
Day Two
Durham (148; Coughlin 35) trail Lancashire (299/5; Fluck 122, Rimmington 3-34) by 151 runs.
Durham Second’s have an uphill task on the final day of their Championship fixture against Lancashire at Chester Boughton Hall CC.
Josh Coughlin (35) and Ross Greenwell (20) added runs this morning, however the visitors were only able to post a score of 148.
Lancashire’s Edward Fluck (122) scored an excellent century, assisted well by George Lavelle (76) who provided a steady base for the hosts to reach 299/5 at stumps.
D’s quick Nathan Rimmington ended with figures of 3-34, forcing Lavelle to edge behind just 24 runs shy of his century, while Josh Coughlin eventually grabbed Fluck’s wicket.
Day One
Durham 97/8 (S.Steel 24, Coughlin 17*)
Durham Seconds struggled in difficult conditions at Chester Boughton Hall CC and were restricted to 98/7 from just 25 overs on the opening day of their three-day fixture against Lancashire 2s.
Scott Steel reached 24 from 26 balls, while Cameron Steel (10), Billy Whitford (12) and Josh Coughlin (17*) were the only other players to reach double-figures.
Saqib Mahmood grabbed four wickets, including the scalp of S Steel, and ended with figures of 4-26 and Toby Lester finished on 2-39.
With the D’s still three runs shy of three-figures, the rain set in and there was no more play past 25 overs.
