Sky will cover two of Durham’s away fixtures starting with their LV County Championship clash against Somerset at Taunton (starting Tuesday 28 April), as well as the Dynamos floodlit NatWest Pro40 match against Sussex Sharks at Hove on Friday 28 August.
Three of Durham Dynamos home NatWest Pro40 matches be screened including their floodlit clash against Worcestershire Royals on Thursday 6 August, the match between last season’s Friends Provident Trophy winners Essex Eagles on Saturday 5 September and Notts Outlaws visit on Sunday 13 September.
Each county will be screened at least three times from the initial 47 fixtures selected by Sky Sports together with the ECB. Matches will be shown in high definition. The coverage includes:
• Friends Provident Trophy: Coverage begins with holders Essex against Northamptonshire on 19 April. Sky Sports has scheduled 11 matches for broadcast from this year’s competition, including two day night games.
• Twenty20 Cup: 18 live matches begin with holders Middlesex in a derby clash with Surrey at Lord’s on 25 May. Coverage includes all four quarter finals and the finals day in its entirety.
• NatWest Pro40: Holders’ Sussex trip to Essex on 13 July is the first of 31 live games from the competition, including a record 25 floodlit games.
• LV County Championship: Two matches from the LV County Championship game will be shown this summer, including reigning champions Durham against Somerset at Taunton from 28 April.
Paul King, cricket producer for Sky Sports, said: “This is another huge summer of domestic cricket on Sky Sports and we’ve got every county covered. There’s something for everyone here; a feast of cricket with over 60 matches for the four major county competitions.”
Coverage is in High Definition plus Dolby 5.1 surround sound, providing viewers with a cinema-like experience for those with compatible systems.
The coverage is part of a summer of cricket on Sky which also includes England’s homes series against West Indies and, from July, the npower Ashes.
In the Sky Sports commentary box are some of the biggest names from cricket including Sir Ian Botham, Michael Atherton, Nasser Hussain, Bob Willis, David Lloyd, Michael Holding, Nick Knight and Paul Allott. Coverage is presented by Charles Colvile and Ian Ward with daily reports, news and views featured on Sky Sports News and skysports.com.
