Spectator Information: England v Sri Lanka Women’s ODI

Following on from a successful men’s international last week, we are delighted to welcome England women back to Seat Unique Riverside as they take on Sri Lanka tomorrow.

With Sri Lanka winning the Vitality IT20 series, England will be looking to get off to winning ways with the start of the Metro Bank One Day International series.

We are set for an exciting day of cricket and recommend spectators get to the ground early to soak up the atmosphere.

Supporters are encouraged to check the latest weather forecast before planning their visit and prepare accordingly, as the forecast is currently expected to be warm.

While refreshments will be available from outlets around the ground, the Club advises supporters to bring plenty of bottled water, sun tan lotion and hats.  Water stations are available around the ground.

We encourage spectators to take time out in the shade through the day.

GATES

Entry to the ground will be via Gates 2, 3 and 5 and gates will open at 10:00am.

Hospitality gates will also open at 10;00am with access via Gate 1.

HOURS OF PLAY

The scheduled hours of play are as follows, but please listen for announcements of any adjustments to these timings on the day.

10:30am – toss

11am – start

14:10-14:40 – interval

17:50 – Scheduled Close of Play

*60 minutes extra time is available should there be any weather interruptions

VENUE

Seat Unique Riverside is a cashless venue.

No alcohol or glass can be brought into the venue.

CAR PARKING  

Parking is available in the council car parks outside the ground at £3 in advance and £5 on the day. Assistance will be available on the day when parking your car via our helpful stewards. To pre purchase parking please click here.

Car parks will take some time to empty at the end of the game so please be patient.

ENTERTAINMENT

Our popular Everyone Active Family Zone will also be up and running for kids of all ages to enjoy; think you can bowl as fast as Lauren Bell or pull off some Amy Jones catches?  If so, we have you covered with lots of cricket fun and games. The family zone will take take place behind the County Durham Stand/

GROUND/PITCH ACCESS

Access onto the Playing Surface/Pitch is not allowed at anytime during the match.

The match will be played on pitch 9.

SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS

Please allow sufficient time for our staff to carry out our security procedures (including bag searches and “pat – down”checks).

You can also assist with the security operation by reporting any concerns-no matter how small-to the club’s stewards. Help stay secure by staying alert; if something doesn’t look right, tell a steward or text 07851183114 anonymously.

Food and soft drinks can be brought into the ground, but NO ALCOHOL  can be brought into the venue.

SHOP/RECEPTION/BOX OFFICE

Durham’s Welcome Hub will be open throughout this fixture.

Fans will have the chance to browse all of Durham and England retail offering in our club shop.

Programmes and scorecards can be purchased from the club shop.

LEAVING THE GROUND

We ask that all  spectators leave the ground promptly at the conclusion of the match. Please follow the instructions from our stewards when doing so.

TRAVEL

WALKING: There is a signposted pedestrian route from Chester-le-Street town centre and railway centre (one mile away), which takes approximately 20 minutes.

CYCLING – Dedicated cycle racks are available free of charge at the ground. Stewards at the gate will direct any cyclists wishing to use these on the day.

GETTING HERE BY BUS – Go North East run a number of dedicated services that run through Chester-le-Street and stop outside the ground. These services run through a number of the surrounding areas including Durham, Newcastle and Sunderland. To plan your route & see bus times, visit the Go North East website on www.gonortheast.co.uk.

GETTING HERE BY TRAIN –  Normal train services will run in and out of Chester-le-Street station on the day of the WODI.  For times, please visit the National Rail website at www.nationalrail.co.uk. The walk from the station to Seat Unique Riverside is approximately one mile and the route is well signposted.

FOOD AND DRINK

There are several catering units on site offering a range of food options. These will be positioned in various points around the ground.

On site we will be operating the Undercroft bar, Container Bar and The Sticky Wicket will be open, along with Moxie Beer truck.

Please note the Big Screen bar will not be open.

There will be a facility open for Durham Cricket members and this will be based in the Castle View Suite. Hot and cold drinks, snacks and sandwiches will be available. No hot food will be available in the members lounge. For access into the members lounge please present your membership card on arrival.

TICKETS

Tickets for this fixture are still available and can be purchased in advance at £15 for adults and £5 for children. Click here to buy. Tickets can also be purchased on the day at £20 for adults and £5 children.

SENSORY ROOM/MULTI FAITH ROOM

During this fixture the Durham Cricket Sensory Room and Multi Faith rooms will be available. Durham Cricket are attempting to ensure the Seat Unique Riverside is fully inclusive to all our visitors.  During this fixture, to enhance customer experience, we will have a Sensory Room, Changing Places facility and a Multi Faith room available.

Based in the media centre, Durham Cricket’s Sensory Room is available. The room is designed to make cricket accessible to all people with neuro-diverse needs who might otherwise feel uncomfortable attending the game.  It provides a safe, relaxing space for individuals and families to enjoy an unrivalled view of the game. You can book a space in the Sensory room by calling 0191 387 1717 or by emailing box.office@durhamcricket.co.uk You must have a relevant and valid match ticket to book.

A multi-faith space room will be available, located in the council sports centre, located in the ground,  with the aim of creating a quiet space for prayer and reflection and will be open to all throughout the game.

There will be sign posts on the day to access both rooms.
