“Hopefully I can carry on getting some more high scores, I don’t want to be scoring a hundred and then just get 20’s or 30’s for the next matches, I want to carry on getting big, decent scores” said Stokes
“It’s great to be out there with an experienced player as Dale, together we have batted well this season, so him coming out to bat with me gives me a lot of confidence. He’s not someone who puts pressure on you and tells you what to do, he lets you play your own game and is a good person to bat with.
“It’s the most important century I’ve scored so far, taking into account the position we were in and the fact that the partnership that me and Dale put on was part of the reason we got into a good position for the draw. It’s proved to me that I can get runs with pressure on me.
“It was brilliant to get the draw but I’m glad the four days are over and we worked hard not to be the losing side. We’ve had one loss and we don’t want another one any time soon.
“The standard of our whole game has been a lot better than last year, even though they scored 610 against us in the first innings the way everyone came and fought back was a great thing to be a part of.
“Both teams were in a good position in the table before the game so it was good to not give them the winning points.
“If we carry on playing our cricket like we did in that second innings with the bat, and get some big score hopefully we can carry on dominating like we have done over the last few years. “
