Durham and England all rounder Ben Stokes has today had an operation on the fractured scaphoid bone in his right wrist.
The 23 year old will be reviewed in six weeks time and a schedule for his return will be determined following the review.
The injury, sustained on the recent England tour of the West Indies, means Stokes will miss the ICC T20 World Cup tournament in Bangladesh. England’s first match of the competition gets underway tomorrow (Saturday) when they take on New Zealand.
