Ben Stokes has spoken to Durham TV for the first time since being named England’s Test vice-captain earlier this week.
The all-rounder will assist Joe Root in leading England into the next era of Test cricket, which begins with a home series against South Africa in the summer.
Stokes speaks openly about the honour of becoming vice-skipper and the chance to work alongside Root, who he has played with and against since the age of 13.
He also discusses why Test cricket is the pinnacle of the game for England’s cricketers and the long tour of the sub-continent, which ended with three gruelling series defeats to India.
