Durham Jets head coach Jon Lewis has been handed a major boost with the news England stars Ben Stokes & Mark Wood have been made available for NatWest T20 Blast Finals Day.
Both Stokes & Wood will play in the semi-final against the Yorkshire Vikings (2:30pm start) and feature in the final should the Jets get there.
Stokes has played three times as a batsman-only in this season’s Blast, including the North Group win over Yorkshire at Emirates Riverside.
He is on the road to recovery after sustaining a calf injury during the third Investec Test match against Pakistan.
Wood has four wickets from three games, including 2/28 from a hostile spell in the quarter-final win at Gloucestershire.
The Vikings will have Joe Root, Gary Ballance & Jonny Bairstow available for selection, while Alex Hales & Stuart Broad will feature for the Notts Outlaws in their semi-final against the Northants Steelbacks.
