Volunteer Isabel inspires her peers around her local club

Isabel attended her first All Stars session 7 years ago and from that moment her love for cricket blossomed.

Since then, she’s progressed through the ranks at her local club, Willington CC and begun volunteering with the All Stars programmes, delivering her years and knowledge and passing it on to the next generation of enthusiasts. She was described as “naturally quiet and shy” by her teacher, Mrs White at Parkside Academy.

Since then, the Chance to Shine Girls Leadership programme has allowed her to come out of her shell and gain vital confidence in leading sessions and has inspired other girls in younger year groups to not just take up cricket but to also start volunteering at their local cricket club.

We hope that other girls can see the work that Isabel does and be inspired to start their cricket journey, whether that be taking up playing or coaching. It’s amazing to see these kinds of stories within our local clubs and we know the future women’s cricket has a bright future.
