The keeper, who scored 11 fifties and two hundreds for Durham during his four year stint at the club from 1992-1996, is cycling with his two brothers, Nick and Simon to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society in memory of their mum, who they lost to dementia.
On his challenge, Chris said, “In January I lost my mum, Kate, to dementia. It was diagnosed 3 years ago and we, as her family, knew very little of how to deal with it. So, to do my little bit and to remember her in the good times, on September 14th I will be putting my ageing body on the line.
“Any contribution no matter how small would be gratefully received, so if you like me please donate and if you don’t please also donate in the knowledge that this bike ride will see me in real pain!’
