Durham Cricket are delighted to announce that three young cricketers have signed rookie deals with the club ahead of the 2025 season.
Stanley McAlindon, Mitchell Killeen and Luke Robinson have put pen to paper on extensions with Durham for at least another year.
With 15 wickets in 13 senior appearances, McAlindon suffered an injury-hit 2024 campaign as he was restricted to one first team fixture and a batting role for Durham Second XI.
Killeen played two List A matches and featured regularly for Durham Second through the season, with his maiden Durham century coming against Northamptonshire 2nd XI. The 20-year-old took 18 wickets across the season whilst contributing over 400 runs to earn Second XI Player of The Year.
Robinson featured twice for the Second XI in 2024, claiming five wickets in two matches before suffering injury, returning to feature in the squad for the 2024 County Championship finale against Kent.
McAlindon and Killeen made their Durham debuts in the 2022 campaign as both featured in the One Day Cup with McAlindon also making his County Championship bow.
Robinson made his name in 2023, taking 2/28 on T20 debut against Leicestershire, dismissing Lewis Hill and Rishi Patel. The 20-year-old made five appearances last campaign with three T20 games and a pair of matches in the One Day Cup.
Director of Cricket, Marcus North said: “We are very pleased to announce that three of our current rookie players have extended their rookie contracts with us. We look forward to supporting their development further during the next 12 months.”
On his 1-year extension, Robinson said: ‘I feel really privileged to have signed a rookie extension at my boyhood club. It’s a great feeling to know I’m able to wear the Durham shirt for at least another year. I’m really looking forward to getting back on the pitch after going through a tough period with injury. I can’t wait to get stuck into another winter with the lads and getting going again next April.”
On extending his Durham stay, McAlindon said: “I’m really happy to have signed another contract extension with Durham into next season, this club feels like a home to me and I can’t wait to see what the future is like for me at Durham. We are making huge progress as a club and hopefully I can play my part in some further success, down the line.”
Killeen added: “I am really pleased to be staying at Durham, after having a good season this year, I am looking forward to getting stuck into next season and working hard to secure myself a long-term deal with Durham.”
