Tony Birbeck named in England over 60s squad to face Pakistan

Tony Birbeck has been named in the England over 60s squad to face Pakistan this month.

Birbeck who plays for Durham over 60s has been called up for the five match series which gets underway on Monday 8 July at Bradford Park Avenue.

Prior to the opening ODI, they will take on Pakistan in a tour game the day before on July 7 at Undercliffe Cricket Club.

England finished second in the 2024 Over 60s World Cup in India in February whilst in 2023 the team won the Caribbean Cup, Grey Ashes and were joint Canada Cup winners.

Pakistan won the inaugural World Cup in 2022 but were unable to defend their title this year. Their team is captained by Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Omaar whilst their squad also boasts former Test captain Saleem Malik alongside further former international and first-class cricketers.

England and Pakistan have only met once before with England coming out on top.
