Unchanged 14 to take on Steelbacks

Durham Jets head coach Jon Lewis has named an unchanged 14-man squad to take on Northants Steelbacks at Emirates Riverside (2:30pm start).

A re-run of last year’s final & the club’s Family Fun Day, it is the first weekend #Blast17 match & the Jets are aiming for a first win of the campaign.

Friday night’s opener in front of a 5,000+ crowd at Emirates Riverside could only end in defeat as Lancashire Lightning ran out winners.

James Weighell took three wickets on debut & Paul Collingwood made 48, & both are expected to play key roles against the Steelbacks.

The visitors themselves dropped to a surprise opening defeat at the hands of Derbyshire Falcons at Wantage Road, making this an important match for both sides as they look to kickstart their 2017 NatWest T20 Blast campaigns.

Despite the agonising defeat in last year’s final, the Jets’ recent record against the Steelbacks is good & Paul Coughlin’s men have won the last four matches between the teams at Emirates Riverside.

As well as the all-new concourse cricket games, which proved extremely popular at the Lightning match, there are extra activities on tomorrow for all the family to enjoy including a balloon modeller, half time race & bouncy castle.

Tickets are still available in advance for £15 adults & £5 juniors. Adult prices are £20 on the day with juniors remaining at £5.
