Durham Cricket interim Head Coach Alan Walker has named an unchanged squad of 14 for Sunday’s Royal London Cup clash against Essex Eagles.
Durham return back to Emirates Riverside for the first time in this format having been on the road for the first 3 games of the group before last week’s game against Gloucestershire at Scarborough.
Going up against Essex tomorrow, Durham are in second place in Group A with 7 points from 5 games with three games to go in the One Day cup and are firmly in contention to progress into the knockout stages.
Essex along with Leicestershire are the least affected club to the Hundred and are only missing two of their first team regulars for the One Day Cup, as Dan Lawrence and Sam Cook both play in the 100 ball competition.
The Chelmsford side have so far won 4 of their 5 games their only loss coming up against Worcestershire at New Road by 182 runs. Tom Westley is having an impressive tournament so far and is their leading run scorer with 310 runs with a highest score of 87 not out. While Shane Snater is their leading wicket taker with 13 scalps, with Simon Harmer one behind him with 10.
Durham have played Essex just 19 times in List A cricket with their most recent contest being in 2013 at Chelmsford, as Durham went down by 6 wickets. Out of that game in August 2013, only Scott Borthwick and Chris Rushworth remain in the squad for Sunday’s game.
Graham Clark remains the countries leading run scorer with 367 runs, with Paul Van Meekeren and Chris Rushworth joint leading wicket takers for Durham having picked up 7 apiece.

Words from Sean Dickson
“It was a great day agains Lancashire. We’re pleased to get another win under the belt. It was tough to get in on the wicket and we struggled to get the ball away.
“Luckily things went our way with a few dropped catches, and Luke batted beautifully and showed what he can do. All credit to him. My hundred has been a long time coming. It meant a lot to me from a lot of angles. I was happy to get a competitive total on the board for the team. We’ve had a good campaign so far, and hopefully we can take it forward.”
