Sean Dickson scores unbeaten century as Durham Seconds draw against Nottinghamshire

An unbeaten century from Sean Dickson saw Durham Seconds secure a draw against Nottinghamshire in their ECB 2XI Championship fixture at Emirates Riverside.

Nottinghamshire started day 4 on 101/1 in reply to Durham’s 128 and it was Potts who was the first to strike three overs into Day 4, as Matthew Montgomery feathered one behind to Tom Mackintosh for 67, the Notts opener adding 7 to his overnight score.

Although Potts struck early, a third wicket stand of 110 from Budinger and Evison, took Notts past 200. Budinger was the first depart as Jack Campbell had him caught by Paul Coughlin at mid-off, shortly followed by Evison as he tried to slog sweep Trevaskis but was caught for 91.

Notts were six down shortly after lunch as Alex Thomson dismissed Schadendorf for 5, in the first over back after the break.

The visitors began to up the tempo after lunch, which saw Liam Trevaskis pick up 2 wickets in 5 balls, as he rounded figures of 3/7 from 2.5 overs. Two wickets from Liam Trevaskis led Notts to declare on 302/8, leading by 174.

Durham put on 50 for the first wicket, before Graham Clark was trapped lbw for 22 by Toby Pettman, losing Michael Jones shortly after, as Durham were reduced to 59/2.

Sean Dickson fired an unbeaten century with 18 fours and 1 six, bringing his century up with a four off the bowling of Harrison. Dickson’s century, saw Durham shake hands with Notts, Durham closing on 159/3 from 30 overs.

Day 3: Nottinghamshire 101/1 (M Montgomery 58*; MET Salisbury 1/30); trail Durham by 27 runs; Durham 128ao (JDM Evision 4/29, ZJ Chappell 4/34) 

Snow stopped play just before 5pm on Day 3, as Durham were bowled out for 128 in 45.2 overs, with Liam Trevaskis (29), Matthew Potts (25*) and Jonathan Bushnell (28) the top scorers for the home side.

With inclement weather causing disruption throughout the match, it was Zac Chappell and Joe Evision who did the damage for the visitors, with both the Notts seamers picking up 8 wickets between them.

Having been bowled out for just 128, it was Nottinghamshire who go into the final day at HQ on top, as they closed day 3 on 101/1 with Matthew Montgomery remaining unbeaten on 58.

Matt Salisbury claimed the only wicket to fall, as he had Ben Compton caught behind for 24.

Play was abandoned at 2:15pm, after heavy rain throughout Tuesday, meant the ground wasn’t fit for play.

Only 9.3 overs were possible for Durham Seconds on Day 1 of their ECB Championship match against Nottinghamshire at Emirates Riverside, as rain stopped play, 40 minutes into the first day.

Durham captain, Sean Dickson won the toss and elected to bat, hitting Zac Chappell for four in the first over of the morning.

Zac Chappell picked up the first wicket, as Graham Clark was caught in the slips by Sol Budinger, before Chappell claimed his second bowling Mike Jones.

Jonathan Bushnell hit Chappell for two fours, before rain stopped play, at 11:41am. Bushnell closing on 8 not out, with Dickson unbeaten on 9.
