England fast bowler Mark Wood has been made available for Durham’s opening Specsavers County Championship match of the season.
The ECB have given the green light for Wood to appear at Derbyshire between 5-8 April, the first four-day outing of the season.
England management, in consultation with the Club, will monitor Wood’s fitness before making a decision on his availability for the Sussex match at Emirates Riverside a week later.
Wood will also be available for two Royal London One-Day Cup fixtures, against Northants Steelbacks (17 April) & Worcestershire at Blackfinch New Road one week later (24 April).
Ben Stokes misses out on Durham’s start to the season due to IPL commitments.
