Wood, Stokes included for Sri Lanka series

Durham’s Mark Wood & Ben Stokes have been included in the latest England squad for the ODI tour to Sri Lanka next month.

The pair are named in a 16-man squad to play two warm-up matches & a five-match ODI series in Dambulla, Kandy & Colombo.

Wood is currently playing in Durham’s Specsavers County Championship match at Leicestershire & has been a regular feature in England’s 50-over side this summer.

The 28-year-old has taken seven wickets in eight matches for his country, with a best of 2/49 off nine overs in the match against Australia at his home ground, Emirates Riverside.

Stokes missed that Australia series through injury but featured in three ODIs against India, with a top score of 50 at Trent Bridge.

Warwickshire’s Olly Stone receives his first call-up to the squad captained by Eoin Morgan.
