Woody: England have Champions Trophy in sight

Mark Wood has backed England to be a dark horse for this summer’s Champions Trophy after the series whitewash against the West Indies.

Eoin Morgan’s men rounded off the short tour with a resounding victory to take the series 3-0 and help gather momentum ahead of the big tournament this summer.

Alex Hales & Joe Root scored half-centuries in the final ODI at Bridgetown but Wood was quick to praise the bowlers, including the series’ leading wicket-taker Liam Plunkett.

And the 27-year-old says while teams like Australia or India are often labelled as the ones to watch in global tournaments, England can put themselves up with the best and possible go all the way.

Watch the full video and catch the second half of the interview next week, where he talks about the upcoming North-South series and recovering from injury.
