Stuart Poynter

After a 7-year career with Durham, Stuart Poynter left the club in 2021 to peruse a coaching career which has led him back to the club two years after leaving.

His career best 170 against Derbyshire was an innings to remember helping Durham avert the follow-on with a maiden first-class century as Durham beat Derbyshire.

Poynter made 32 appearances in the County Championship, 40 in the Vitality Blast and 18 in List A cricket for Durham.

In 2022 Poynter joined the Durham University cricket team as a coach and alongside his playing commitments with Northumberland he coached their Emerging Players Programme.

Poynter now coaches the Durham boys’ under 13 and 12’s sides.
